Privacy notice
Who we are
Fidum Advocates is a firm of advocates practising in Uganda, located at Da Vatican Place Building, Level 1, Plot 3666 Mpererwe, Gayaza Road, Kampala. For questions about this notice, contact us at fidumadvocates@gmail.com or on +256 768 283 720.
What we collect
- Details you give us through the enquiry form: your name, email address, phone number if provided, the type of matter and your message.
- Details you share when you call, email or message us directly.
- Basic technical information that web hosting services record automatically, such as IP address, browser type and pages visited.
How we use it
- To respond to your enquiry and run a conflict check before we agree to act.
- To provide legal services once an engagement has been confirmed in writing.
- To keep the website secure and understand how it is used.
- To meet our professional and legal obligations, including record keeping and anti-money-laundering requirements where applicable.
Sharing
We do not sell personal data. Enquiry form submissions are delivered to us by a form-handling service and our email provider. We may share information with courts, regulators, correspondent counsel or other third parties where you authorise it, where the law requires it, or where it is necessary to provide the services you have instructed.
Retention
Enquiries that do not lead to an engagement are kept for as long as reasonably needed to respond and to maintain conflict records. Client files are retained in line with our professional obligations and applicable record-retention requirements.
Your rights
Under the Data Protection and Privacy Act, 2019 you may ask to access the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, and object to certain processing. Write to us at fidumadvocates@gmail.com. You may also lodge a complaint with the Personal Data Protection Office of Uganda.
Cookies
This website does not set tracking cookies of its own. If analytics are added in future, this notice will be updated to say so.
